Cumin is widely used in our foods as a spice.  Normally we always add chillis to spice the food.  But if you add Cumin, coriander, ginger, garlic, the food will become tasty and improve digestion. 

Cumin has many health benefits.  It is digestive, increasing appetite reduces gas or stomach pain, and blood purifying.   It also flushes out kidneys and swelling. 

In females, Cumin is very good for any pelvic heaviness, uterine bulkiness, and it is fantastic after delivery for bringing the uterus to the normal size and increasing the lactation.

  1. Relieves Gas and Acidity

Many people always get gases or bloating, heavy feelings after anything they eat. Especially if you are feeling acidity or gas after eating lentils, grams, kidney beans, peas.  then, do this home remedy after food every day :

1 teaspoon Cumin powder (Jeera)

¼ teaspoon Ajowain powder)

1 pinch  Asafoetida (Hing)

½ teaspoon  Rock salt (Saindha namak)

Mix all with half a glass of water and take 2 times a day, especially after 15 minutes of eating food.

Many people have a big tummy and their hands and legs are very slim.  No matter how hard you try, this tummy does not go as this is not fat but mostly gas, and the stomach bloated like a balloon.  If you are suffering this type of bloating,  take this home remedy regularly for months and months, slowly and steadily the gases will defuse, when you peers in the balloon and how the balloon diffuses and become flat, same way your tummy will also become flat.


  1. Hiccough

Many times we get a hiccough, and it does not go away so quickly.   This home remedy significantly helps relieve hiccough instantly.

1 teaspoon  cumin powder

¼ teaspoon  Asafoetida

½ teaspoon rock salt

Ghee – enough to make a paste

Mix all well and make a fine paste.  Eat this paste 2-4 times a day. Make fresh pasta all the time. 


  1. Cumin for excessive heat and too much thirst

Many people suffer from high heat in the body.   Because of high heat, they constantly feel dryness in the mouth; no matter how much water you drink, the thirst is not satisfied.

Drinking a lot of water minimum of 8-10 glasses a day is fantastic for health.   But excessive thirst is a sign of excess acidity and air in the body. 

Such people can get stomach ulcers, hyperacidity, migraine due to heat, or skin problems due to heat in the long run.

If you have a tendency to drink a lot of water, then use this home remedy every day, and within few months, the heat will calm down, excess thirst will reduce, and this will also prevent future health problems.

Soak one teaspoon of black resin in ½ glass of water overnight. Squeeze the liquid in the morning. 

Add :

1 teaspoon Cumin powder

1 teaspoon Corriander powder

1 teaspoon white sandalwood powder (optional)

Mix all well and drink this mixture every morning on an empty stomach.

If there is too much heat, you can take this mixture 2-3 times a day.

You can also take this mixture if you feel lots of heat from any medication and want to calm down this heat.


  1. Throat irritation

Some people keep getting throat irritation and the urge to clear the throat constantly.  There is no cough, the nose is clear, no congestion. Still, there is the urge to empty the mucous in the throat. And they will keep on trying to remove the irritation.

It is really because of low digestion where everything you eat produces mucous and slight acidity.  This mucous comes up to the throat like reflux. It keeps floating in the throat and does not go down and does not clear, even coughing.

For such irritating mucous in the throat, this simple avaleh preparation can help remarkably.

Cumin powder   800 gm

Milk                     1.600 kg

Ghee                  400 gm

Cook everything on a very slow fire till it becomes a thick paste.

When it is cool, add

800 gm raw cane sugar

25 gm each of powder of cinnamon, Cardamom, dry ginger, black pepper, pomegranate seeds, coriander, Turmeric. 

Mix all well and store in a glass jar.  Eat 2 teaspoons of this mixture in the morning every day. This will reduce weakness,  loss of appetite, burning, cough, shortness of breath, and throat irritation.


  1. Improves digestion

We always buy some digestive tablets, which are tasty and helping digestion.

Here is the recipe for Natural digestive pills, which is tasty, and you can always chew it after food for digestion and removing gases.

1 cup Cumin powder

½ cup Black pepper powder

1 cup Rock salt

1 table spoon  Asafoetida

½ cup Dry ginger powder

Mix all these fine powders well.  Add powdered jaggery enough to take a pill.  Roll this mixture with your hand and make small round pills.  Store these pills in a glass bottle. You can carry this pill during your travel.    Suck 1-2 pills after the food. It significantly with acidity, gases, indigestion, burping, and abdominal pain.

Cumin seed oil is perfect for the itching and redness of the skin.   Especially for Urticaria or pigmentation of the skin.

1 cup  Ghee

¼ cup Cumin seed oil

½ cup Neem oil

Mix them very well and store them in a bottle.  Apply this oil on the affected area 2-3 times a day.  It will help calm down heat, reduce redness, itching, and puss.
